The Great Salt Lake

The third landform I have discovered is the Great Salt Lake.  The Great Salt Lake is located in Salt Lake City, Utah.  It started out as a smaller lake but gained more water during the ice age when it was Lake Bonnevile.  It has since then lost water and has come to be known as the Great Salt Lake.  It is called the Great Salt Lake because it is very salty is pretty big.  It is so salty because the Lake only has inlets (places where water comes in) and no outlets (places where water drains out).  The water in the lake evaporates, leaving behind salt.  The Great Salt Lake holds 4.5 to 4.9 billion tons of salt.  The Lake is 75 miles long and 30 miles wide. In some areas of the lake, it is so salty that you can just float on it without much effort.
